Professor Chauvet is an expert in economic forecasting who frequently speaks about recessions and business cycles. Her research focuses on macroeconomics, financial markets, and time series analysis. Professor Chauvet’s prediction model has proven to be very accurate and produces results months sooner than the federal government. The model is referenced by investors, producers, researchers and several Central Banks around the world, including the Federal Reserve Board in the U.S., the Bank of Spain, the European Central Bank, Bank of France, and Central Bank of Brazil. Professor Chauvet served as a policy adviser at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and a consultant for the Central Bank of Brazil. She has published papers in several journals, including International Economic Review, Journal of Forecasting, Economic Letters and Journal of Empirical Finance. Professor Chauvet earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
