Brian M. Lewis has practiced in the fields of business law, estate planning, trust administration and probate administration. Mr. Lewis works on complex trusts and estate tax plans, including generation skipping tax (“GST”) planning and complex gifting techniques. Mr. Lewis prepares intrafamily transfer documents, and utilizes limited partnerships, LLCs, corporations, varied irrevocable trust instruments, and charitable gifting techniques as part of such planning.
Mr. Lewis received his bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Southern California and after his undergraduate studies, Mr. Lewis went on to work as a certified public accountant with a national accounting “Big Eight” firm. Mr. Lewis obtained a law degree at the University of Denver College of Law and also received a master’s degree in taxation (LLM) at New York University.
Mr. Lewis returned to the Coachella Valley to work for the state-wide law firm of Best Best & Krieger LLP (BB&K), where he became a partner in 1994. By January of 2007, he opened his own practice in Palm Desert, where he continued to guide clients through complex cases involving tax law, business, and estate planning. Overall, he has served the desert community for more than 35 years.
